The right way to move!
Moving your valuable exercise equipment can be a real hassle if you do not take precautionary steps.
One of the best sources for how to maneuver the equipment is in the manual. If you have the original packing box, this would be a great time for you to completely dismantle the equipment and ensure it is protected.
When moving the equipment, remember that each piece of the equipment is unique and weighted differently. Take precautions and identify these parts. Either secure them firmly or remove them to move them separately.
It is always best practice to test it first, ensure all its pieces connect, and that its electronic components run smoothly. Wrap the cord around the machine or tape it into position. Always have the owner’s manual handy to help you with the process.
A treadmill is often too wide to go through a standard doorway. Disconnect the frame and console from the base portion and carry them separately.
The base is the heaviest part of the machine and will require support to smoothly transport it, especially if it is going up or down stairs. The weight on the base is awkward and will require attention when maneuvering corners. Work in pairs to ensure there is no damage to the equipment or surroundings.
Anchor the equipment securely and cover it with padding for protection once it is loaded onto the truck.
When storing your equipment, always ensure that it is in a climate and humidity-controlled environment. The electronics are sensitive and require additional care and protection.
